Frequently asked

How accurate are the numbers?
They are estimates from a single photograph, and photographs hide things — oil in the pan, sugar in the sauce, the depth of a bowl. Treat the figures as a good working guide rather than a measurement. If you know a portion was larger or smaller than it looked, adjust the portion percentage after the scan.
Why did it say "no food detected"?
The analysis returns no items when it cannot identify food in the frame. Try better lighting, get the whole plate in shot, and shoot from slightly above rather than straight on.
Do I need an account?
No. The app works anonymously out of the box. You only need to add an email and password if you want the same history on a second device.
How do I move my data to a new phone?
Add an email and password in Settings on the old device, then sign in with the same details on the new one. Your meals, weights, and water log will sync.
Are my photos stored anywhere?
No. Each photo is analysed and discarded — it is never written to disk on our servers. Full detail is in the privacy policy.
How do I delete my account?
Use the account-deletion option in the app where available, or email a2sflow@proton.me from the address on the account. We erase everything held under it within 30 days and confirm by reply.
Is there a daily limit?
Yes — a fair-use cap on analyses per day, so one user cannot exhaust the service for everyone. Referral bonuses add extra scans.
Can I use this for a medical condition?
No. CaloriCam is a general wellness tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose or treat anything. If you are managing diabetes, kidney disease, an eating disorder, or any other condition, follow the guidance of a qualified health professional.
